Herald's Angelfish (Centropyge heraldi)

The Herald's Angelfish, also commonly known as the Yellow Pygmy Angelfish or False Lemonpeel Angelfish, is a vibrant and hardy member of the dwarf angelfish family. It is distinguished by its uniform, brilliant yellow coloration across its entire body and fins. Unlike the Lemonpeel Angelfish, which it closely mimics, the Herald's Angelfish lacks the blue ring around the eye and blue edges on the fins, making it a "cleaner" yellow aesthetic for the aquarium.

Behaviour & Tank Compatibility

Herald's Angelfish are active and curious, constantly grazing on algae throughout the rockwork. While they are generally peaceful toward non-related species, they can become quite territorial once established, especially toward other dwarf angelfish or fish with similar oval shapes and yellow colors. They are considered "reef safe with caution," as they may nip at large polyp stony (LPS) corals, clam mantles, and some soft corals if their dietary needs are not met or if they become bored.
