Rotala macrandra "Variegated" is a cultivar and is just as challenging as the normal Rotala macrandra. 

It is an attractive but demanding plant. Light must be intense (>3wpg) and CO2 is recommended for it to show its true beauty. NO3 (>10ppm) and PO4 (1.5-2 ppm) is necessary for it to thrive.

It also requires iron and micronutrients, otherwise the plant turns pale.  

If all the conditions are met, you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful stem plants available to a hobbyist.
